This unique petalite specimen is absolutely colorless. It was found by a good friend of ours in a lithium-rich pegmatite near Taquaral, Brazil. This petalite specimen is completely natural - unheated and untreated - just as it was found in the earth. It has a veil passing through it separating two gem grade clear areas - the larger clear area would yield a faceted gemstone weighing 20 carats!

Petalite Mineral Specimens

Petalite is a lithium aluminum silicate. It occurs naturally in some lithium bearing pegmatites where it is associated with other lithium containing minerals like lepidolite, kunzite, amblygonite, and tourmaline.
