Our Cats Eye Quartz Gemstones are 100% Natural - they are unheated and untreated!
The chatoyancy or cat's eye effect visible in our natural cats eye quartz gems is due to the presence of fibrous mineral inclusions or tubelike cavities in parallel orientation within the quartz. These parallel oriented features reflect light in the form of a brighter zone which moves across the surface of the material as it is turned. When fashioned with a rounded surface or cabochon shape, this cat's eye effect becomes more easily visible.
We specialize in rare and unusual natural gemstones & jewelry items, and we do have natural cats eye gemstones available in several other minerals including cats eye aquamarine gems, cats eye heliodor, cats eye chrysoberyl gemstones, cats eye jade, cats eye sunstone & moonstone, cats eye tourmaline gems and cats eye sillimanite gemstones.
